For a free call out to a found animal: Please call COMING SOON.

If you come across a potentially lost animal, and are able to contain it SAFELY, we will be happy to come out and check if it is microchipped.

Please note, we only cover parts of East Sussex and Kent at this time. Due to data protection, we cannot check the owner details of the animal, we can only access the microchip number and which database the chip has been registered to, if at all. We can then give the chip number to a vets or welfare charity for them to access the owners contact details. We have absolutely zero authorisation to access the personal data, this is universal to all microchip implanters unless they are registered as a welfare charity or are a vet.

We would not be able to take responsibility for the animal so please contact your local council who are responsible for stray cats, or your local dog warden for advice. Other types of pets can be taken to vets or potentially rescue centres whilst they are waiting to be reunited with their owners.

If you find a dog:

If you are able to safely detain it, please call us (or any company who offer this service) to microchip check, take it to the nearest vet or contact your local dog warden if you find a dog running about and you are unable to catch it.
PLEASE NOTE, THEY CAN ONLY KEEP THE DOG FOR 7 DAYS, there after, unless the dog has somewhere to go, they are legally allowed to put the dog to sleep even if it is healthy.

If possible take a photo and take note of the road or What3Words location if you can, then put it up on social media lost dogs pages for the local area with as much detail and description as you can or Animal Search UK. This could help get it back to the owner quickly.

It is also worth bearing in mind that in the UK it is a legal requirement to report if you hit one of the following animals with a vehicle (this includes a bicycle, scooter, electric scooter and mobility vehicles etc)

DOGS
HORSES (mare, foal, gelding, filly, colt, stallion)
DONKEYS
MULES
CATTLE (Cows, calves, bulls, heifers, steers, bullocks)
SHEEP (Ewes, lambs, tups/rams, wethers, tegs)
GOATS
PIGS

It is also advised to contact the police if you hit a deer as it may need to be moved or euthanised, also if you hit a badger as they are a protected species.

If you find a stray cat:

It can be hard to tell if a cat is stray, is roaming but owned or living as a feral.

If you are able to safely detain it, please call us (or any company who offer this service) to microchip check, take it to the nearest vet or contact your local council if you find a cat who is running about/injured/lost and you are unable to catch it.

Found a healthy stray horse?:

Follow these steps if you find a healthy-looking stray horse:

-
Check with local liveries, farms, riding schools and vets. English, Welsh and Scottish law requires all horses to be passported and microchipped so they will be able to be identified if they have these things.
-
Contact your local authority or the police for further advice. If a horse has a freeze mark, you can contact Premier Equimark.
-
In England, if you think the horse has been abandoned on private land, legally you must inform your local police force.

Found an injured stray horse?:
Horses found straying on a public road are the responsibility of the police. Please call 101 to report the location or 999 if you feel that there's a danger to road users.

How to report horse fly-grazing:
Fly-grazing is a horse illegally grazing on private or public land without the landowner's permission.

In England:

-
Legally, both public and private landowners can detain any equine that is fly-grazing on their land.
-
After the owner has been notified and allowed to collect their horse, landowners can take possession and sell the animal. The police and owner (if known) must be notified within 24 hours.
-
During this time, the landowner is responsible for any injury caused to the horse while on their and. They're also legally responsible for meeting the horse's needs.
